TERMS AND CONDITIONS ON WHICH BOOKINGS WILL BE ACCEPTED. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE BOOKING.

 

  1. Bookings will only be accepted on a signed acceptance form from The Horse Drawn Carriage Company.

  2. An approximate total of 6 miles for the day should be taken into consideration when planning the route - distances more than this should be discussed before booking.

  3. Customers must notify The Horse Drawn Carriage Company of any outstanding features of the route at the point of booking. For example rough terrain, steep hills, cattle grids, busy main roads, railway crossings, bridges etc. Customers must realise that horse drawn carriages have limitations and The Horse Drawn Carriage Company must retain the right to alter the preferred route if deemed necessary.

  4. Please be aware that a horse and carriage will travel at approximately 1 mile per 10-15 minutes.

  5. The Horse Drawn Carriage Company will provisionally book your day on receipt of your booking form. We will then conduct a review of the route 1-2 weeks after the booking has been made. If the route is not considered suitable The Horse Drawn Carriage Company reserves the right to cancel the provisional booking. If the route is considered suitable then we will send you a final acceptance form summarising all the details which you must sign and return to secure the day.

  6. A non returnable deposit of £100 is required with the acceptance form.

  7. The final balance must be paid in full 2 weeks before the event.

  8. The Horse Drawn Carriage Company will make every effort to provide the turnout requested, but retain the right of substitution in case of illness to horses and / or damage to the carriage.

  9. In the event of a booking being cancelled, the customer must notify The Horse Drawn Carriage Company immediately in writing (either letter or email). Failure to do so may result in a cancellation fee at the discretion of The Horse Drawn Carriage Company.

  10. The Horse Drawn Carriage Company reserves the right to cancel the booking if our horses become ill and no suitable replacement can be found,  if the carriage is damaged and cannot be repaired in time or due to adverse weather conditions e.g. snow, ice, high winds or thunder storms. This has never happened but should be brought to your attention. Any monies paid will be refunded including the £100 deposit.  We advise customers to have alternative transport arrangements planned just in case.

  11. No refunds will be entertained once the 4 weeks prior to the event has elapsed. Customers book wedding carriages many months before the event date and therefore we are unlikely to replace with another booking in such a short space of time.

  12. We are more than happy to wait around for up to 15 minutes at the reception / final drop off location for photos to be taken with the horses & carriage.

  13. Customers must bring to the attention of the coachman or a representative of The Horse Drawn Carriage Company anything that is not to their satisfaction. We will endeavour to correct any problems that you may have with our service as swiftly and courteously as possible.

  14. Horses are and can be unpredictable animals. The Horse Drawn Carriage Company makes all reasonable effort to ensure a safe experience is had by all. We ask for all members of the public to stay at least 6 feet away from the horses unless permission has been given by the coaching staff.

  15. Fireworks, crackers, confetti cannons must not be released and / or objects thrown under any circumstances around or near the horses and customers must make The Horse Drawn Carriage Company aware before the event if there is to be any activity of this kind.

  16. Where drones are in use for videoing, these must be kept at least 50 meters away from the horses at all times.

  17. Any planned loud activities such as marching bands / horns / drums etc must be made known to the Horse Drawn Carriage Company at point of booking.

  18. Passengers must remain seated at all times in the carriage.
